Leiden Events
Leiden is a lively city with many annual events.
January brings the Leiden Jazz and Blues Week, June offers the Leiden marathon (the former 3M Marathon),
The Leiden cloth festival (Lakenfeesten) is organised around Rembrandt's birthday in July,
with lots of street theatre and the crazy boat parade (peurbakkentocht)
and of course there is the world famous celebration of Leiden's Relief on 3 October with
the traditional parade and the consumption of herring and white bread,
on 3 October hundred of thousands of people visit the 3 Ocober event.
