Leiden University After the Deliverance of Leiden the young Dutch state was looking for a place to establish its own university and Leiden was chosen. Here the first university in the Netherlands was founded, established in the Academy Building, which is still in use. Many famous scientists taught here, like Boerhaave , Kamerling Onnes and Einstein. Many famous students attended the lectures, like several members of the royal family. |
